Question by cat_solo04: Does anyone know of good nightlife in Philly that is diverse or caters to an upscale African American crowd?
I’m going to Philly in two weeks and always have trouble finding a good spot for night life for someone in their late twenties that likes a diverse crowd or crowd that caters to sophisticated African Americans when I go (ie. no white tees, baggy clothes). Particularly for a Saturday night in the city and not too crowded so that you can’t move around and dance. Thanks!

Zanzibar Blue, in the Bellevue on the Avenue of the Arts, very upscale.

There are a few places around, but Zanibar Blue closed at the end of April. Warmdaddy’s is nice (located at 1400 Columbus Blvd); North by Northwest located at 7165 Germantown; Flow Nightclub; Chrome (939 Delaware Ave); Please take a look at http://www.gophila.com. There’s some great resources there.
